Health Issues Poker Athletes May Concern
Knowing poker to the uninitiated can just be a mere gamble of chips, but it is actually a sport. It involves all a sportsman's prowess more if not equal to any other sports. It takes an athlete constant dedication and hardwork to prepare himself for the game.
Being like a sport athlete, poker athletes consume their training on countless amount of hands and time. This proves itself later on the felt where agility meets mental strength and experience. A poker athlete need to stay fit and on top of his toes to be card sharp. Busily grinding away can easily make the athlete forget of possible health threats. Most athletes depended on adrenaline to stretch the limit. A poker athlete will feel this rush all the same. Hence with adrenaline too much in the system, it may be too late to realize that you are overworked. It is always important to know when to rest and play. Playing online poker will mean spending more time in front of a screen. Having countless hours in a seated position reduces one's mobility and this could easily induce numbness along major part of human bodies. Everyone loves to have a stimulating working environment. When your office can be your bedroom, it is best to always keep it clean and refreshing. A poker athlete's working space is also his resting space lest it be claustrophobic. Having the eyes fixated for a long time to a screen is certainly not healthy. Our eyes are one of the most sensitive organs. We use it everyday and they should not be a matter to be overlook. Not having proper sleep due to grinding on the felt can be detrimental. The human body has it's own time clock. Forcing the body to be awake when it should be replenishing itself adds extra stress. The part of the bodies taking part in this daily activities include our wrist, forearms and fingers. The only thing physical about it is mouse clicking. Sometimes not having an ergonomical pose for our arm and wrist can give a real problem. The most severe case will be developing a Carpal tunnel syndrome. Worst case scenario would be an operation to fix it. A human body have tells much like poker tells. Fatigue and stress is a sign that tells it is enough session for the day. The body needs to shut down and rest. Often times, playing after this threshold contributes a lot towards a tilting session. The poker bug continues to take on everybody. It is a simple game to learn and a long way to master. It also makes sense to take in all we can learn and be concern to take care of ourselves. Read morePosted by kleninggan at chipstakespoker |

The Art Of Second Law
I recently had an opportunity to re-read a book I have for a few years now. It was a favourite book of mine. After revisited the chapters, it finally came to me what it all meant. I couldn't get it back then, I got it now. The Second Law, it was something much much more.
It was how everything that was meant to be have got this second law to blame. With this law there was simply a point of no return. Back before its time, if we have waited long enough we could see things running backward instead of forward. Just as how a wheel that spins forward can also be spinning backward. This was however flawed. The night always chases the day. The trees will rise up to the sky and fall. And human beings will grow old and die. This was how second law acted on us. Global warming will continuously be an issue and oil/fuel will be a resource that is getting lesser by the day. It was not about energy crisis, but more of how energy have dissipated. All matter, as always, returned into less structured and less ordered state. A bad beat at poker happened not because of variance but because of the Second Law. Because everything will resume into a less ordered state. As I understood it, it was irreversible!! Having a bad beat was nothing more than Second Law trying to proclaim its existence. Bad beats happened in contrast to the player fighting to reclaim his losses. In the long run, the end will be inevitable. Humans will be gone. Civilisations will be gone. The sun will collapse. The end of world is nigh. - Will we won't be able to see the end of time? Whatever will be, will be. The end will come. Que sera sera. Read morePosted by kleninggan at chipstakespoker |

The Online Poker Dream
This is a guest post by Gary from 2milliondollarbills [... the site has been discontinued]. Gary is on a quest towards $2 million dollars. He also writes at his blog about his favourite Scottish recipes.
The Online Poker Dream and the Path to Financial Freedom
The online poker bug has firmly taking hold of millions of people all around the world; it has truly become a global game. Some people play purely for fun, others to make a little bit of extra money, some even play with the dream of becoming good enough to be able to give up the day job.
I personally feel that online poker offers us all the potential to become financially free. What’s wrong with having the dream that one day, you can become good enough to make a full time living from playing online poker. If you want something badly enough and are prepared to work hard enough, you can make the dream become a reality.
For many people, it will sadly never be more than just an unachievable dream. I suppose that’s just the way of the world, not everyone has the correct mindset, to learn what is required to become a winning poker player, or to take it on to the next level, where you are a professional online poker player.
There are literally thousands of people making full time livings from playing online poker and that is no exaggeration, but there are also thousands upon thousand of people that are constantly losing. Some are even going broke and losing their cars and homes. Live poker playing legends such as Johnny Chan, Doyle Brunson, Scotty Nguyen have all at some point in their careers, ended up broke on more than one occasion, yet they used it as learning experiences which helped to make them great poker players. Unfortunately too many online poker players don’t seem to be capable of learning form past mistakes and experiences, they just keep on losing and losing.
If you want to become a winning online poker player and get on the path to financial freedom, you have to become like a sponge and starting soaking up as much information as possible, every time you play, you have to train almost like a professional athlete does. You have to spend time training, reading as much books as you can, learning about odds, analyse your winning hands and losing hands, how could you have done things differently and of course you have to be willing to play for between 8-14 hours a day to gain the experience that will make you a better player and ultimately a winning player.
As part of my dream to make 2 million dollar bills, poker is very much part of my money making plans. I may be a long way off from making serious money by playing poker, but I’m I have finally learned how to win more than I lose. I just wish I could find the time to take it on to the next level and play for more than 10 or 12 hours a week. I have other interests, which I also enjoy being involved in, but such is life I suppose.
For me the online poker dream is very much alive, I have learned from my mistakes and am finally on the path to financial freedom.

The Only Bounty Tournament We Know At Doylesroom
This Wednesday is the Bounty Tournament day at Doylesroom. Every wednesday night, Doyle Brunson participates in this tournament and offered himself as the Bounty. At least, most of the time. A bounty on him is $500 and is a fair share among hundreds of poker players that joined this tournament as always.
It is easy to find where Doyle Brunson is sitting as he goes by the screen name Tex_Dolly. With this, everyone can try to add him as a buddy from the poker software, but it was rumored that he won't approve to be your buddy.
There is also a host that makes this Bounty Tournament entertaining and more lively. The suspense part of this Bounty Tournament is seeing who gets the Bounty. Most of the time anyway.
Once again, knockout 3 bounties, you get $25,000. Kockout 2 bounties, you get $5,000. Knockout 1 bounty, you get $500. DoylesRoom Bounty Tournament starts May 21, this Wednesday at 9:30pm ET. Right now it is about 20hrs away.

Work Poker. Live Poker. Play Poker
Not quite, not yet. But it is a possibility. Sometimes it is a mystery to think about it. I don't really know if it makes sense if one would be so devoted of his time to making money instead of spending time with their loved ones.
Come what may, why would anyone consider being their own boss? It is one of the most hardest job. Seriously, isn't it much better being an employee and getting a fixed salary month to month. The tasks of being your own boss is one of a totally different playing field. It is beyond desk work or any other kind of technical job being schooled to you.
On top of that, sometimes after passing on the experiences to those you employed, they simply just run away. Talking about no return of investments there.
Well, poker on the other hand is unique. It can be seen as a business. It is also a risky business. No employee to hire. No costs on having offices locally or worldwide. The cost is yourself and the investments you made for yourself. But every cents you put into the game, there are chances you might not get it back.
Having said that, there is no time boundaries for when to play poker. It can be somewhere in between Eastern Standard Times, EST, GMT, BST or Anytime. When it is time to open business, Anytime suffice. Playing poker is like being a time traveller, only thing is we can be physically here but our entity is somewhere else in a different time.
How much more can you ask for? Being that good, anyone can join. Not exactly that there is an age limit either. Above 18yrs is quite mandatory though, at least we know you have reached puberty. So when do you want to start?

Making Millions. Are You One Of Them ?
The truth is, making this site is an idea of mine. It was meant to be more than what you come to believe as just another affiliate site. I had collaborated with a friend of mine where I would be writing the poker stuff and he would be contributing his share of digital graphics. It would be fun, I thought.
He, who shall not be named have been doing sketches since college. Lately, his artwork had exceeded my expectations of what could just be a past time. His great work can be seen from the about page. It has been a long time waiting. He is busy with his professional career now and asking more from him frequently makes me feel guilty.
So, I am moving on with this by myself now. It will be a long long road ahead and could just as well be boring listening to my lone voice. I will be taking you off the beaten path and back, maybe to the dark dark alley road too and hope you will like it.
I hope I am not losing my perspectives yet. I am in an attempt to make something out of poker. The road to millions!! This sounds unbelievably good. Many people would give up their career to play. But this only depends on what you like to do. It also means where you like to go in your life. Some people doesn't like to work in a cubicle, offices. Some likes to meet people. Some enjoys travelling. You only have one life. You choose yours. Nobody knows what the next day is.
It has always been about you. Your life purpose. So make something of it. Go play some games, g_d damnit!!! Join Ladbrokespoker or Doylesroom. And if I make my millions I promise to buy dinner, seriously.

How Does ClickandBuy Works
Being an online player, you might have had this happened to you. You tried to make a deposit online but it doesn't work. You tried again and still in disbelief that your card was no good for this online poker room. Anybody not able to make a direct deposit using their cards will certainly feel disappointed.
Once again, there are a few of those methods out there that can still change this. ClickandBuy is quite a well known ewallet for online poker room. Their logo can be found plastered on most poker rooms now, which include Pokerstars, Ultimatebet, most of Ongame network sites and a few more other places.
When creating an account, it will be temporarily blocked. ClickandBuy requires you to do a verification to your card. They asked you to approve two transactions where ClickandBuy will charge your card. The amount will be from 1-1.99 Euros. So be prepared for a maximum spending of 4 Euros.
This kind of verification is similar to Paypal. The amount you payed will remained in your ClickandBuy account so you have just deposited up front into your ClickandBuy account. To verify these transactions, you need to confirm the correct amount which can be found from your credit card statement. You see, you were not told what those two amount of charges were. See how it goes now?
Once the verification have been confirmed, the account will be unblocked. Obviously this method is SLOW. Not a very good choice to choose if you want to deposit now and play! This method takes a few days of your time and most probably up to 2 weeks!!

Ladbrokes Wants You Play Their SNGS
So what is sngs - you may ask. Sit n gos are the standard single table game for tournament play. Which means once the required 10 players have sit in at the table, the game will start. It is pretty much like a condense version of a multi table tournament. Here you are playing the same tournament format minus off the usual 100s or 1000s of players that is. More about Ladbrokes SNG Jackpot
Sounds easy ain't it? All you have to do is outplay 9 players and the cup is yours, forever etched in loving memories. A great promotion to get it all started is in Ladbrokes Six-Seat Sit n Go Jackpot. Started in April, it is continuing in the month of May too.

Ladbrokes is pouring in $20,000 Jackpot Freeroll per month for qualifiers from Six-Seat Sit n Go Jackpot. This $20k freeroll is only limited to 10 players and all 10 qualified players will be paid. Even if the pay out for 10th placing is 1%, it is good enough for the hassle. Since you are wining money from the Six-Seat Sit n Go Jackpot anyway to qualify.
For the month of May, the $20,000 STT Freeroll will be played out on Sunday 1st June at 20:00 BST (British Standard Time of course). In circumstances that only 1 make it to the $20k freeroll, he/she will get the whole lot.

Jaws Is Back. Run For Your Lives!!
Not your average Steven Spielberg film but we all know how menacing looking jaws were in that film with its sharp teeth. They can have more bite than we can chew and similarly if jaws would have taken a hold of our chips we would have a big chunk of chips teared up away from our grasps. This big fish is a predator we commonly known on the felt as the shark.
They are constantly lurking around pool of fishes eagerly awaiting their next meal. This vicious cycle of predator and prey have been around since you know when. But when you are playing online, it is always hard even if you are the bigger fish of the small fish.
Who says online poker is child's play? Yes, you can play up to a few cents at stakes at online poker compared to when you are playing with real games. It isn't all that convenient that you come around a live game just to play a few cents?
But knowing how popular poker are right now, everybody is playing it. Along with it, there are tracking tools made available for online poker. This specific tool is one bit annoying. It is called the sharkscope. You can search for anybody almost anywhere at the online poker room and see how they are doing.
You can find how well he is doing with his ROI, return of investments and his state of mind. Yes, this tool can allow you to read your opponent's mind even if he is wearing an aluminium thin foil hat. But wait, this is not a damper yet because you can still use it back to check up on players you have noted earlier to be fishy in their games.
So it can really be an advantage and disadvantage at the same time. If you think playing online poker is for the kids, you might want to think again. The next fish might just be you. However ironic it may seems, this tool certainly is not privacy friendly.

Doyle's New Poker Software
Here is the new spin about Doylesroom, they have recently revamped their poker software. It is now more sleek and cool, no doubt. Of all the poker rooms listed here, this is the best poker software around. It separates itself from the pack. In fact playing around with the software alone simply stimulate your senses!
The functionalities you can see are :
- New table design
- New frame
- Game buttons
- Best hand display
- Change table size
- Poker table options
- Table appearance
- Setting preferences
- Avatar menu
- Hand history

They have indeed hit the heart of an online poker player with it. Their Ajax-like movement together with necessary functions and neat appearance adds up to a poker player gaming experience. Tired eyes and sleepless nights at the online felt will bring you no more bad beats as you will feel refresh with this software.
Looking back at a Microgaming software, you will notice that you won't be able to see your chip count at the table in numbers. Players need to move the cursor to the chip to display the amount. A hassle in the past.
With this new change you are now able to see those chip counts in numbers. And this alone is really an improvement to be welcomed.
Have you had experience with it yet? Please tell your story. Read more

Bankroll And You
Starting out with nothing and trying to grow a bankroll can be the hardest thing you ever want to do. Because your amount of play are pretty much limited by what you have. Everything can be costly so you will have to rely most on what you know. This also means getting the information you need to achieve your goals.
Your play at first will be quite tight. As your bankroll gets better, things get easier.
Somehow bankrolling can get off to a bad or good start in the beginning. A lot of drama really. After gotten first cash from freerolls you have the insatiable happiness which you recieved and aptly rewarded.

Putting the money where it belongs is up to you. How you grow your bankroll depends on you. I have burned a $8 dollar bankroll playing $0.15/$0.30 limit games. It happened to me, it can happen to you also.
After getting up to 3 figure size, I realized I am doing alright. That is why I feel good talking about poker and many things there are on poker. Similar if you just watched a mind blowing movie and can't stop telling people about it.
I am excited about poker and derived much fun from it. I am growing together with you as much as you are growing your bankroll at the same time now.
Good luck! if you haven't already working on your bankroll :)

Gameplays At Bodog
As we are working out, curling biceps and shedding away our bulging bellies, we are trying to squeeze one more post that may or may not help you. We are shaping ourselves to look like one lean, mean playing machine deserving of poker rooms we played at.
"This is Bodog. This is the life". - Play hard.
The gameplays at Bodog is not much less than those words above. Players playing at Bodog are truly true Bodog players. You can find loose aggressive plays and you can also find tight aggressive plays that sometimes you feel those players must be really uptight about their tight ass.

No offence, but Bodog players are good players. Raise your chips and you might find yourself getting reverse bluffed.
In terms of tournament aspect for your games, there are many. If you are new, you will appreciate Bodog beginner tournaments - especially the SNGs. Here you will find great bargain for your low buy-ins. Why? Because they payout 5 spots out of 10 players. Any experienced players will tell you this is no joke. Of course, you don't get much if you win than you would if the payout is for top 3.
Now, we are just going to copy and paste what Calvin Ayre had said, "That said, although the Bodog address is changing, this is the bottom line: At Bodog, it's business as usual. Same great site, just a new Web address." This was last year when they have to change their domain from Bodog.com to Bodoglife.com.
Have a good one!
