The World Series of Poker will start soon. For what it's worth, most online poker rooms had already had it done with for their fair bit of deals. One way of making it available for players to get their chance to WSOP is by offering one of those qualifying tournaments.
Most of the time, the package is given to the winner of it's main qualifying event. The buy-ins can start small and slowly graduating to bigger ones. It caters to all type of players with different bankrolls. Anyone willing to put part of their bankroll into the event can do so. Those that want to start small will have no problem finding the smaller stakes to qualify.
Winning one of those WSOP Main Event satellite packages will have you going to Vegas for free. In a few more days this opportunity will close. All the attention later will be on who is the most deserving to get those bracelets.
In comparison to others, Doylesroom already had its own WSOP package up since early this year. In addition to $10,000 for the WSOP buy-in, each package winner will receive:
#$3,000 for travel and accommodations.
#Breakfast strategy session with the legendary Doyle Brunson.
#Autographed leather bound set of Super System 1 and 2.
#Photo session with Doyle and other renowned pros.
#DoylesRoom gear and bragging rights.
Take advantage of their continuous $14 + $1.40 Sit&Go Satellites, $9 + $1 Daily Turbo Satellites, and $20 + $2 Daily Satellites, as well as weekly satellites and Bi-Weekly finals, and a free trip to Vegas will be waiting for you.

Philippines Hosting Filipino Poker Tour
Last year 2007, PokerStars.net Asia Pacific Poker Tour started with a series of tournaments around Asia Pacific region. The tour started from Philippines to Korea to Macau and later Australia. The grand final was won by a local player, a Sydneysider Grant Levy. With this, another poker player has turned millionaire overnight just like that.
You can listen to a mp3 interview of what the Sydney APPT 2007 champion, Grant Levy has to say after the win from the ABC website (QuickTime needed) : Grant Levy-ABC mp3 interview
This time around, the Philippines is starting their very own Filipino Poker Tour following the momentum from APPT. The tournament started on Jan 26 and took 2 days. It all happened at their new card club, Metro Card Club. The tournament also receives coverage from PokerStars which supposedly will be airing the game all over Philippines.
This was confirmed from PokerStars Philippines Regional Manager message to their players. The message was relayed by local Filipino poker player at his poker blog. An interesting blog which have a lot of news on Philippines poker.
It is without doubt that Phlippines indeed have an affinity towards poker. It seems to be growing non-stop. Because Filipino poker players were the majority players in the past qualifiers to APPT.
