Shuffle Up And Deal is a book aimed to be the ultimate guide for No Limit Texas Hold'em poker players. The book was authored by WPT commentator Mike Sexton. Mike Sexton along with his side kick commentator Vince Van Patten are known throughout the World Poker Tour scene. They travel along each WPT events to give their commentaries on live tournaments.

If you have seen what his commentaries are like, you get to read his thoughts on poker now. Although Mike Sexton is an unlikely choice to be considered one of those great poker players to ever write a book on poker. You should really read deeper into this one.




Mike Sexton himself was a former poker champion. He won a $10,000 buy-in championships at the World Poker finals held at Foxwoods in 1992. He was at first a bridge player but later found it was better off making money from playing cards.

The book came in with an introduction from Steve Lipscomb giving a history on how the World Poker Tour began. A great read as it tells the story of how WPT's success brings Steve Lipscomb to become a million dollar CEO.

The main content of the book hinges on basic concepts of playing No Limit poker. This is what Mike Sexton had done exceptionally well. It starts off with explanations of how you would actually play poker from the basics of how blinds works, poker hands and etc.

Later through the chapters, Mike shares several strategies that are what great professional poker players build on from. Undeniably, these are what every poker players should know before ever starting to play poker seriously. He also put in a few examples from several live games from professionals to make his lessons more vivid and captivating.

All in all, this book is a great read and useful for those who just started getting excited from poker. It will help beginner players to understand poker better and guide them on the right track. This book however does just that. This is not the book to read if you are already an advanced poker player and looking for more deeper secrets of No Limit Texas Hold'em.
