The Online Poker Dream and the Path to Financial Freedom
The online poker bug has firmly taking hold of millions of people all around the world; it has truly become a global game. Some people play purely for fun, others to make a little bit of extra money, some even play with the dream of becoming good enough to be able to give up the day job.
I personally feel that online poker offers us all the potential to become financially free. What’s wrong with having the dream that one day, you can become good enough to make a full time living from playing online poker. If you want something badly enough and are prepared to work hard enough, you can make the dream become a reality.
For many people, it will sadly never be more than just an unachievable dream. I suppose that’s just the way of the world, not everyone has the correct mindset, to learn what is required to become a winning poker player, or to take it on to the next level, where you are a professional online poker player.
There are literally thousands of people making full time livings from playing online poker and that is no exaggeration, but there are also thousands upon thousand of people that are constantly losing. Some are even going broke and losing their cars and homes. Live poker playing legends such as Johnny Chan, Doyle Brunson, Scotty Nguyen have all at some point in their careers, ended up broke on more than one occasion, yet they used it as learning experiences which helped to make them great poker players. Unfortunately too many online poker players don’t seem to be capable of learning form past mistakes and experiences, they just keep on losing and losing.
If you want to become a winning online poker player and get on the path to financial freedom, you have to become like a sponge and starting soaking up as much information as possible, every time you play, you have to train almost like a professional athlete does. You have to spend time training, reading as much books as you can, learning about odds, analyse your winning hands and losing hands, how could you have done things differently and of course you have to be willing to play for between 8-14 hours a day to gain the experience that will make you a better player and ultimately a winning player.
As part of my dream to make 2 million dollar bills, poker is very much part of my money making plans. I may be a long way off from making serious money by playing poker, but I’m I have finally learned how to win more than I lose. I just wish I could find the time to take it on to the next level and play for more than 10 or 12 hours a week. I have other interests, which I also enjoy being involved in, but such is life I suppose.
For me the online poker dream is very much alive, I have learned from my mistakes and am finally on the path to financial freedom.
