General Guideline
The rounds of a Texas Hold'em is as follows :
- Pre-flop
- Flop
- Turn
- River
- Showdown
There are force betting in Texas Hold'em. This consists of Big Blind (BB) and Small Blind (SB). Who gets to be BB and SB will be determined on where the Dealer (D) is. The player to the immediate left of the dealer will post the SB while the player next to the small blind will post the BB.
The action of the game starts when players either call the blinds, raise, or fold. At the end of the hand (showdown), the highest-ranking hand (that has not folded) wins the pot.
To win at the showdown, players will have either of these card combinations to form a valid poker hand:
- Both pocket cards and three board cards
- One pocket card and four board cards
- All five board cards (also known as "playing the board")
No Limit And Limit
Example of a limit game, in a $2-$4 limit game, all bets and raises are $2 for the pre-flop and flop. Bets and raises for the turn and river will be at the higher limit of the stakes structure. Here, all bets and raises will be $4.
For no limit game, there are simply no limit to how much you can bet and raise.
In all Texas Hold'em games, the first player to act when pre-flop round came is the player sitting directly left of the Big Blind. After pre-flop, the first player to act is any player sitting directy left of the Dealer.
